Mahuli fort trek – The Gang:
After Kalavantin fort, trekmates from Kalavantin Durg were in hurry for next trek and so we decided it to happen sooner in monsoon. But as the rain was delayed out plan also delayed, but as soon as rain started in Mumbai, we decided date to be 24th June, 2018. All members except Aniruddha were ready and few new members were also ready for this trek. So 5 new trekkers and 5 old trekkers were in the gang for the mahuli fort trek. Thank you guys for not throwing the plastic around and keeping it with us only.

Mahuli fort trek – The Trek Day
Like my previous treks, I woke up before the alarm could wake up. This has been the routine for all of my treks till date. With nothing else to do, I waited for the clock to strike 4:30 to start prepping. 8 of us boarded the 6:20 am slow train from Nerul to Thane. After reaching to Thane at 6:50am, we boarded 6:57am Asangaon train which was somewhat late. We landed to Asangaon station around 8:15am and then we took 2 auto rickshaws for INR 300 each. They were asking for 3 with INR 250 each but thanks to the members slimness. 😛

After reaching to Mahuli base village, we had some snacks including tea and coffee for mates followed by start of trek. We started to walk and started to capture pictures from various mobile and camera as well, but rain has some other plan. We need to keep the camera back in bag in few minutes. Thanks to Tushar whose umbrella had make us sure to get pictures even in rain. While walking we came across a bridge and the waterfall like thing was actually dry while this time. So just captured some pictures and moved ahead.

We kept gossiping and kept going ahead and some of the nature pictures are just awesome and I can not resist myself from posting them on the blog. Meanwhile we were hungry and we decided to have fruits that we have with us. As we were too much hungry, we ate all fruits that we have and that too in heavy rain. The rain was too much that few of us were just having cold.

After getting some food in stomach, we started our journey again with overtaking other groups (though we were not able to pass each one 🙁 ). And then finally we came across the iron stair to pass by. We processed from that and then we came around the orange flag and mesmerised by the view and the feeling at this much top. This time rain was too high and we were not able to capture more pictures though. We processed to the cave afterwards and as rain was huge we did not stopped much at the places. We returned from cave and started to move around Bhandargad and Kalyan Darwaza.
After walking around an hour, we came across a valley and that needed to cross to view the sunset and the Bhandargad, but there was a group of 60 people who were just getting of from the Bhandargad and that was the toughest part of the trek and we needed to miss that as of time being. We finished biscuits and remaining snacks here and we started return journey.

After about 2 hours of walk and sleeping in mud of some members, we reached to base village after about 2 hours. We freshened there and had tea and coffee. Till then we called our morning’s rickshaw driver and we started to go back to Asangaon station.
It was an amazing trek with full of energy and addition of some new members added more thrill and fun as well. AND now looking up for next trek in few days….
